Q.  As part of my search to buy a building lot, I hear much said about well yield. What is the minimum well yield sufficient to supply an average family of four?

A.  Baltimore County recently issued a Fact Sheet about wells in the County. This article should provide you with a basic understanding of water wells. For further information consult a well driller or Baltimore County's Dept. of Environmental Protection and Resource Management (DEPRM).

A company, Well Water Security Alliance, Inc., now provides service contracts for your well and pump equipment and will assist you should you have well yield or other problems with your well water.
